Twenty-Sixth MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE OUTLOOK FORUM (ON-LINE)

MedCOF-26 comprises 3 steps. The first one is devoted to verification of the MedCOF-25 winter forecast; the second one to the assessment of current state of climate and, finally, the third one to the building of consensus statements.

STEP-1: Verification of winter 2026 seasonal forecast

Deadlines:
• Mon 27th Apr: National contributions (from countries not belonging a sub-regional COF) posted on the forum
• Mon 4th May: First draft (large scale) verification posted on the forum
• Mon 4th May–Mon 11th May: Discussion
• Mon 11th May: Second draft verification ready for adoption
STEP-2: Assessment of the current state of climate
Editors: F. Gayrard, P. Bissolli and R. Selmi (also moderators)
Deadlines:
• Wed 13th May: Monitoring contributions from participants (all, on voluntary basis)
• Fri 15th May: First draft for the current state of climate
• Fri 15th May–Tue 19th May: Discussion
• Tue 19th May: Final document ready for adoption
STEP-3: Building of the consensus statement

Deadlines:
• Wed 21th May: Reports from RCCs (F. Gayrard, W. Badi, GPC contributors)
• Fri 22nd May: First draft consensus
• Fri 22nd May – Mon 25th May: Discussion
• Tue 26th May: Second draft consensus
• Tue 26th May–Wed 27th May: Discussion
• Wed 27th May: Final document ready for adoption
• Wed 27th May (afternoon): Webex and adoption of STEP 1, 2 and 3 documents
