MedCOF-23 comprises 3 steps. The first one is devoted to verification of the MedCOF-22 summer forecast; the second one to the assessment of current state of climate and, finally, the third one to the building of consensus statements.

In every step, all communications go through the forum tool:   http://medcoforum.aemet.es.

STEP-1: Verification of summer 2024 seasonal forecast

Deadlines:

• Mon 4^th November: National contributions (from countries not belonging a sub-regional COF)
• Mon 11^th November: First draft posted on the forum
• Mon 11^th – Mon 18^th November: Discussion
• Mon 18^th November: Second draft ready for adoption

STEP-2: Assessment of the current state of climate

Editors: F. Gayrard, P. Bissolli and R. Selmi (also moderators)

Deadlines:

• Fri 15^th November: Monitoring contributions from participants (all, on voluntary basis)
• Tue 19^th November: First draft for the current state of climate
• Tue 19^th – Thu 21^st November: Discussion
• Thu 21^st November: Final document ready for adoption

 STEP-3: Building of the consensus statement

• Wed 20^th November: Reports from RCCs (F. Gayrard, W. Badi, GPC contributors)
• Thu 21^st November: First draft consensus
• Thu 21^st – Mon 25^th November: Discussion

• Mon 25^th – Wed 27^th November: Discussion
• Thu 28^th November: Final document ready for adoption
• Fri 29^th November (afternoon): Webex and adoption of STEP 1, 2 and 3 documents
