MedCOF-24 comprises 3 steps. The first one is devoted to verification of the MedCOF-23 winter forecast; the second one to the assessment of current state of climate and, finally, the third one to the building of consensus statements.

In every step, all communications go through the forum tool:   http://medcoforum.aemet.es.

STEP-1: Verification of winter 2024-2025 seasonal forecast

Deadlines:

• Mon 28^th April: National contributions (from countries not belonging a sub-regional COF)
• Mon 5^th May: First draft posted on the forum
• Mon 5^th - Mon 12^th May: Discussion
• Mon 12^th May: Second draft ready for adoption

STEP-2: Assessment of the current state of climate

Editors: F. Gayrard, P. Bissolli and R. Selmi (also moderators)

Deadlines:

• Wed 14^th May: Monitoring contributions from participants (all, on a voluntary basis)
• Fri 16^th May: First draft for the current state of the climate
• Fri 16^th - Tue 20^th May: Discussion
• Tue 20^th May: Final document ready for adoption

STEP-3: Building of the consensus statement

• Wed 21^st May: Reports from RCCs (F. Gayrard, W. Badi, GPC contributors)
• Thu 22^nd May: First draft consensus

• Mon 26^th - Tue 27^th May: Discussion
• Tue 27^th May: Final document ready for adoption
• Tue 27^th May (afternoon): Webex and adoption of STEP 1, 2 and 3 documents
