MedCOF-20 comprises 3 steps. The first one is devoted to verification of the MedCOF-19 winter forecast; the second one to the assessment of current state of climate and, finally, the third one to the building of consensus statements.

In every step, all communications go through the forum tool:   http://medcoforum.aemet.es.

 

 

STEP-1: Verification of winter 2023 seasonal forecast

Editors: P. Bissolli and R. Selmi (also moderators)

Deadlines:

• Fri 28th April: National Verification Reports (Only countries not belonging to any sub-regional COF)
• Fri 5th May: Draft (large scale) verification posted on the forum
• Fri 5th May–Fri 12th May: Discussion
• Fri 12th May: Verification report ready for adoption

STEP-2: Assessment of the current state of climate

Deadlines:

• Fri 19th May: Monitoring contributions from participants (all, on voluntary basis)
• Mon 22th May: First draft for the current state of climate
• Mon 22th – Thu 25th May: Discussion
• Thu 25th May: Final document ready for adoption

• Wed 24th – Fri 26th May: Discussion

• Fri 26th – Mon 29th (at noon) May: Discussion
• Tue 30th May (at noon): Final document ready for adoption
• Tue 30th May (afternoon): Webex and adoption of STEP 1, 2 and 3 documents
